PC Reinstallation Caused Duplicity of Outlook Emails – Here is the Solution

At times it is seen that re-installation of PC, and thus reconfiguration of Outlook generates duplicate emails in Outlook mailbox, but why? Let us understand it with a practical example of Samantha and see what she did and how she deleted all duplicate emails from her Outlook 2010 mailbox.

Samantha – a software professional, uses MS Outlook 2010 in her office. However, another day after system crash, when she reinstalled her PC and reconfigured Outlook with old PST file, she found a lot many emails than she previously having in her Outlook Inbox folder. •    First of all select the folder from which, you want to remove duplicate emails.
•    Select ‘View’ tab on the Ribbon of Outlook and then select ‘Change View’ and after that change the folder view to table type view. Such as click the ‘List’ icon.
•    Select the column heading by right clicking and after that click ‘Field Chooser’.
•    Now from the top of the field chooser, click to select ‘All<item name>’ fields.
•    Now make sure that the duplicate items have unique dates than the original set of items. If this is so, then click the ‘Modified’ heading so that the items will easily be sorted by this field.
•    Then click the first item from this list and scroll down to the last item that you want to delete. Click the last item by holding down the SHIFT key.
•    Press ‘Delete’ to delete all the selected items permanently.
